天然のアメトリンが採れる場所は世界的に限定的な中、ボリビアのアメトリンは高品質なことで知られています。そんなコチラ、ある意味メタリックとも言えるテリを持った宝石で、自然界による美しい天然のバイカラーをVVSのクラリティでお楽しみいただけます。

ボリビアのアメトリンは、約5億～3億年前頃に形成されたと考えられています。地下深部での地熱活動とシリカを含む熱水の影響により、数万年から数百万年かけて石英が結晶化し、その後、温度や酸化還元環境の微妙な変化などの影響を受け、鉄イオンが特定の条件下で紫色と黄色の色帯を作ったものと考えられています。

余談にはなりますが、水晶の主成分であるシリカは、地球の形成初期から存在している鉱物で、その起源は約45億年前にさかのぼるとされています。シリカは地球の地殻の主要な成分で、シリカ（SiO）の主成分であるケイ素（シリコン）は、宇宙の最古級の元素で、宇宙で最初に水素とヘリウムが約138億年前頃のビッグバンで生成され、ヘリウムの燃焼が進み、より重い元素（炭素、酸素、ケイ素など）が核融合によって生成され、超新星爆発によって宇宙に放出され、惑星や隕石などの形成材料となったそうです。

そして地球は約45億年前に形成され、その地殻の約27%がケイ素で構成されているそうです。

これらのことから、クォーツにあるとされる浄化作用というのは事実である可能性が高いように思われます。そして、そんな水晶の一形態であるアメトリンには、持つ人の「才能を開花させる」力があると言われています。

最高級の品質。 これらの宝石には、倍率10倍のルーペで見ても一切のインクルージョンが無い、もしくは見つけることが非常に困難な微細なインクルージョンや、同様に外部に微かなキズしかないクラリティです。こちらは流通量が非常に少ないグレードになります。

VVS
一般に流通している中での最高品質です。 天然石なので、ごく僅かな内包物などが10倍に拡大した場合に確認できますが、肉眼で間近で見ても一切の欠点がない品質です。流通量も少なく非常に高品質なものとして扱われています。

VS
上質。 10倍に拡大した際に、内包物や外部のキズなどがVVSより多く見られます。肉眼で念入りに間近でチェックした場合、僅かにそれらを確認できる場合があります。

SI 1
良質。 VSと比べ10倍に拡大した際に若干内包物が多くみられます。肉眼で間近で見た場合、わずかにそれらを確認できます。

SI 2
良質。 肉眼でわずかなインクルージョンや、外部のキズなど確認できますが、腕を伸ばした距離では、それらは実際には見えず、とても綺麗な宝石として扱われます。

Natural Ametrine is found in only a few locations around the world, and among them, Bolivian Ametrine is especially renowned for its exceptional quality. This particular gem exhibits a beautiful, natural bi-color pattern—a harmonious blend of orange and purple—with a striking metallic-like luster, all combined with VVS clarity.

Bolivian Ametrine is believed to have formed around 500 to 300 million years ago. Quartz crystals like this one developed over tens of thousands to millions of years, through geothermal activity deep underground. Heated silica-rich fluids slowly crystallized, and under specific conditions—such as subtle shifts in temperature or redox balance—iron ions created distinct zones of violet (amethyst) and golden yellow (citrine).

As a side note, silica, the primary component of quartz, dates back to the early formation of the Earth, approximately 4.5 billion years ago. Its key element, silicon, is one of the oldest elements in the universe, forged in ancient stars through nuclear fusion and distributed via supernovae—ultimately forming the building blocks of planets and gemstones.

The Earth's crust is composed of about 27% silicon, making quartz one of the planet’s most abundant and significant minerals. Many believe that this deep cosmic and geological origin gives quartz its reputed cleansing and healing properties.
